WWE News: Roman Reigns and John Cena engage in another epic back and forth on RAW

What's the story?

Roman Reigns and John Cena faced off against each other in another promo at Raw, as Cena just came off from a win against Jason Jordan.

In case you didn't know...

Last week saw Reigns and Cena face off against each other in a promo as Cena made his Raw debut. The promo saw Cena wipe the floor with Reigns and take him out in an epic confrontation, calling him a 'bootleg Cena' among several other insults.

The promo saw Roman flounder for a while before finding his feet, talking about Cena's shovel and how he buries the WWE's younger rising stars. The promo saw Cena and Reigns sign a contract for the match between the two at NXT.

The heart of the matter

The two went at it again on Raw, just after Cena picked up a win over Jasin Jordan, as Roman came out to interrupt Cena's celebrations.

He called Cena out for taking more than twenty minutes to win against a 'rookie' like Jordan, and talked about how incompetent Cena was to take that long to win.

He said that Cena either did it on purpose, letting Jordan gather momentum before 'crushing' him, or Cena was not actually as good as he says he is.

Cena took him on, saying Roman was conceited and had been handed everything, instead of earning it like the Miz or Jason Jordan. Cena said that all Roman had to back his claims were nothing but his own words. He said he would beat common sense into him, but when Roman challenged him to go for it, Cena stayed his hand and did not follow through.

Roman called him out for it and walked out.

What's next?

Roman and Cena will face each other at No Mercy soon, bringing an end to all the words as the two go at it in the ring instead.

The match will be one of epic proportions as Cena and Reigns are two of the top men in the company, and the match is basically for the right to be the face of the company.

Author's take

Reigns and Cena are two of the most talented wrestlers in WWE right now, as well as being two of the most polarising stars.

The match actually has deeper connotations, as it represents the WWE that was in the form of the true heroic character of Cena, and the WWE that Mr. McMahon is trying to build in the shape of Roman Reigns who walks in a greyer area, than simply good or bad.
