WWE News: Premier League Champions Manchester City awarded with a personalized WWE Championship belt

What’s the story?

2017/18 Premier League Champions Manchester City have been awarded a customized WWE Championship belt as a celebration of their historic fifth overall Premier League title. WWE COO Triple H also sent out a congratulatory tweet earlier today, to congratulate the Citizens on their recent success.

In case you didn’t know…

Following Manchester United’s shock defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Matchday 34 of the ongoing Premier League season, it was seemingly confirmed that this year’s Premier League trophy would head to the other side of Manchester for the third time in seven seasons.

Manchester City, who won the Premier League title in 2011-12 and 2013-14, have won a total of 30 games this season, drawing three and losing just two of the 35 matches played so far.

The heart of the matter

The 2017/18 Premier League season is done and dusted with Manchester City comfortably sitting at the top with an astonishing 93 points to their name. WWE COO and the rest of the WWE management took notice of The Citizens’ triumph, awarding Pep Guardiola’s men with a customized WWE Championship belt.

In addition, City stars such as the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Ederson Moraes, Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and others were also seen posing with the WWE Championship belt.

What’s next?

Despite being confirmed as the 2017/18 Premier League Champions, Manchester City’s season is far from over as The Citizens are slated to face-off against Huddersfield later tonight, which will be followed by the two fixtures against Brighton and Southampton.

Having played such devastating football throughout the season, Manchester City are certainly the worthy winners of this year’s PL crown and Guardiola’s men totally deserve to hold their personalized WWE Title belt.
