The King and the Showstopper.

What's the story?

It was revealed on this week's episode of Dinner with the King that Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Shawn Michaels will be appearing on the pre and post-show panels at Survivor Series.

In case you didn't know...

Dinner with the King is a podcast that features the legendary Jerry Lawler and Glen Moore. The announcement was made on this week's show and it has only made the upcoming PPV even more star-studded.

While Lawler is a regular face in pre-show panels, the introduction of Shawn Michaels is a pleasant surprise. HBK is currently working down at the Performance Centre and has taken a special interest in rejuvenating Johnny Gargano's career in NXT.

The heart of the matter

The pre-show panels for every PPV usually have Renee Young as the host with Peter Rosenberg, Sam Roberts, Booker T and David Otunga taking turns in doing the analysis and predictions.

As Survivor Series is one of the big four, WWE felt the need to amp up the star power in the pre and post shows by adding not one but two Hall of Famers.

The breakdowns and predictions of Lawler and the Heartbreak Kid will make for an insightful watch that we can assure.

What's next?

Survivor Series 2017 is set to take place on Sunday, 19th November. The card is headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles in a Champion vs. Champion match.

The other top matches include the Traditional Men's Survivor Series Elimination match led by Kurt Angle of RAW and Shane McMahon of SmackDown. John Cena has also been confirmed to be the 5th member of team SmackDown Live, making the PPV a high-profile event.

Author's take

Having The King and HBK on the panel is better ten Rosenbergs and Roberts' put together and I'm sure the WWE Universe agrees.

Being an avid Michaels fan myself, I just can't wait to see him grace the PPV with his presence even if it isn't in a wrestling capacity. And then you have Lesnar vs. Styles! Bah GAWD!

It's safe to say that Survivor Series has transformed into a must-watch PPV.
