WWE News: What happened after NXT Takeover: Orlando went off-air?

Nakamura and Roode sent fans home with a bang!

What's the story?

It was an emotional night for one NXT Superstar as the sold-out crowd inside the Amway Center sent Shinsuke Nakamura off with a tribute fit for royalty.

In case you didn't know...

Shinsuke Nakamura took on Bobby Roode in the main event of NXT Takeover: Orlando, hoping to regain the NXT Championship, which he lost to Roode in January, at Takeover: San Antonio. Unfortunately for Shinsuke, Roode had just enough to overcome the former champion, thus resulting in him retaining the title.

The heart of the matter

As you'll see in the video, the sold-out crowd in Orlando stuck around long after Takeover went off the air. Fans in attendance wanted to make sure that Shinsuke Nakamura knew just how much they appreciated his efforts and how much he has meant to the NXT Universe.

WrestleMania weekend will culminate with the grandaddy of them all at the Citrus Bowl, also known as Camping World Stadium on Sunday night and will air on the WWE Network.

Author’s take

Signing Shinsuke Nakamura could prove to be one of the most pivotal moments in NXT history. For years it was believed that Japanese mega-stars such as Nakamura would never sign with the WWE, much less take an assignment with NXT.

However, guys like Nakamura and Hideo Itami have shown the world that NXT is no longer just a developmental brand, it is, in fact, a movement worthy of being taken seriously.
