WWE News: WWE Hall of Famer thinks Shinsuke Nakamura should win this year's Royal Rumble

WWE Hall of Famer Edge recently stated his opinion on why he believes that Smackdown superstar Shinsuke Nakamura is a perfect fit to win this year’s 30-man over the top rope Royal Rumble match.

In case you didn’t know…

Ever since coming up to the WWE main roster, former NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura has experienced a very frightful run on Smackdown Live. Nakamura, who is considered as a wrestling legend in Japan, made his name into the world of Pro Wrestling via his work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The former King of Strong Style is a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and has also held the IWGP Intercontinental Championship on several occasions as well. Nakamura is also a former 2-time NXT Champion, however, he is yet to capture any sort of championship on the main roster thus far.

The heart of the matter

According to Edge, he believes that Shinsuke Nakamura has proved himself to be a special performer thanks to his work for NJPW. Edge stated that the American audience and to an extent, Pro Wrestling fans around the globe are also yet to see what Shinsuke Nakamura has to offer inside the ring and what he brings to the table.

Additionally, Edge also noted that the WWE Universe has seen flashes of what Nakamura is capable of inside the squared circle during his matches against Sami Zayn and Randy Orton in the past, furthermore, ‘The Rated R’ superstar also thinks that it would be nice to see the WWE creative giving Nakamura a shot to win this year’s Royal Rumble match.

What’s next?

The WWE Universe now will have to wait till this Sunday to find out who eventually prevails as the winner of this year’s Royal Rumble match. The Royal Rumble PPV is all set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and Shinsuke Nakamura will be among one of the thirty men who will try and win this year’s Rumble match.

In my opinion, this will be the perfect stage to start rebuilding Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE career, we all know that The Artist is capable of putting up great matches and totally deserves the spotlight. Nakamura winning the Rumble match and challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania seems like the ideal choice as of right now.
