WWE RAW Results 3rd April 2017, Latest Monday Night Raw winners and video highlights

The Raw after WrestleMania brings us a fresh start as we head to the Amway Center in Orlando. This is the unofficial beginning of WWE’s season so let’s get right to the results to see where we stand.


Roman Reigns receives a nasty reception from the WWE Universe

Chants of Undertaker filled the arena as Raw went on air. Fans paid their respects to the ‘deadman’ who retired last night at WrestleMania after losing to Roman Reigns. Chants of “Undertaker” were soon interspersed with chants of “Roman sucks” which soon became louder than the “Undertaker” chants themselves.

Roman’s music hit soon after this and the ‘Big Dog’ was received with chants of “DELETE” from the volatile post-Mania fans. The fans then took chants of “F**k you Roman”. These were followed by almost 10 more minutes of the fans chanting at Roman who just stood in the ring and brushed it off.

Roman’s only words were “This is my yard now”, after which he left.

The Hardys vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

The match started off at a quick pace as the Hardys took control early. Matt hit a Side Effect early after Jeff tagged him in. He then went for a Twist Of Fate but Anderson blocked it. The Hardy brothers replied by dumping Gallows and Anderson out of the ring.

We came back from commercial to see Gallows and Anderson in control. They isolated Matt as Anderson struck him with right hands before tagging Gallows back in. Gallows and Anderson rotated tags as the beat Matt down as chants of “obsolete” broke out.

Gallows looked to hit a Senton by Matt dodged it and tagged Jeff in. He took Gallows down with a right hand and followed it up with an inverted atomic drop followed by a dropkick. Gallows rolled out of the ring at this point and Jeff followed him out. With an assist from the steel steps, Jeff hit a poetry in motion at ringside.

Back in the ring, Gallows capitalised on Anderson distracting the referee and he took Jeff down as The Club hit him with a Boot Of Doom. Jeff kicked out at 2 and a half as Matt came in and hit Gallows with a Twist Of Fate. Jeff followed it up with a Swanton Bomb as Gallows got pinned for the 3-count.

Neville addresses WWE fans

Neville came out and he said that he was true to his words as he had retained his championship, unlike Austin Aries. Neville then announced that a proper celebration had been booked for 205 Live. However, he announced that he would show the fans on RAW why he was the king.

Mustafa Ali’s music hit as he came down to face Neville.

Neville and Ali went toe-to-toe in the opening stages before Ali hit a massive hurracanrana followed by a spin kick which sent Neville crashing to ringside. Neville replied by launching Ali into the air which saw him land face-first onto the mat. Neville flung Ali back out of the ring as we headed to commercial.

We came back from commercial to see Neville in control as he had Ali in a side-headlock. Ali broke out and hit Neville with a kick across the head followed by a rolling neckbreaker. The King of Cruiserweights hit back with a deadlift German Suplex before decapitating Ali with a nasty lariat. Ali kicked out at 2 and a half.

Ali and Neville were on the top rope. Ali hit a nasty Spanish Fly from the rope and followed it with a Superkick. Sensing his chance, Ali then hit a spectacular Satellite DDT before going for the cover. Neville put his foot on the rope to avoid getting pinned.

Ali went for his trademark inverted 450 from the top rope but Neville dodged it as Ali crashed and burnt. Neville headed to the top rope to finish Ali off with a Red Arrow before changing his mind and locking in a Rings of Saturn instead. Ali tapped out almost immediately.

Vince McMahon makes a huge announcement

WWE CEO Vince McMahon made a surprise appearance. The fans sang along with Vince’s theme as he came out. Vince thanked the fans for making a success before announcing a ‘Superstar shake up’ next week on RAW.

He then announced that Stephanie was hurt at WrestleMania. Vince then announced that Stephanie would be out for some time before announcing a new RAW GM. Teddy Long came out at this point but Vince informed him that he wasn’t the man for the job. Vince then introduced the next RAW GM – Kurt Angle.

Angle was greeted by a massive pop from fans as Angle came down to the ring and said that it felt good to be back before acknowledging the fans before heading to the back.

The New Day came out and lamented the fact that they couldn’t do what they loved the most at WrestleMania – which was wrestle. They then issued an open challenge.

The open challenge was answered by The Revival who made their main roster debut.


The New Day vs The Revival

Dawson and Wilder isolated Xavier Woods early on, as they worked on him with surgical precision. Dawson and Wilder traded tags frequently as Woods tried his best to tag in Big E, but unsuccessfully. Woods briefly tried to fight back in desperation with a hurracanrana but Dawson took him down from behind as we headed to commercial.

We came back from commercial to see Dawson all over Xavier Woods as The Revival worked on Woods’ arm. Dawson tagged in Wilder who continued his partner’s good work as he stomped Woods in the corner. He followed it a headbutt.

Wilder tried to hit a superplex but Woods hit back with a missile dropkick as he Wilder tagged in Dawson. Woods then tagged Big E who hit Dawson with multiple Belly-To-Belly suplexes before clotheslining Wilder out of the ring.

Big E went for the mid-rope spear but he missed and crashed to ringside as The Revival isolated Woods again. The Revival hit Woods with a Shatter machine to pin Woods.

After the match, Dawson and Wilder tried to injure Kofi’s knee as Dawson held Kofi while Wilder hit a double stomp on his knee from the middle rope.

Bayley, Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke vs Emma, Charlotte and Nia Jax

The main story going into this match was the long-awaited in-ring return of Emma after the failed Emmalina experiment.

Emma and her former partner Dana Brooke faced off as this match started. Emma took control early, forcing Dana to tag in Bayley. Emma and Bayley went back and forth before we headed to commercial.

We came back from commercial to see Nia Jax dominating Bayley. Nia tagged Charlotte in, who hung Bayley up on the turnbuckle before tagging in Emma. Emma showed her vicious side as she attacked Bayley when she was hung up.

The heels continued to isolate Bayley and work on her as Charlotte hit her with a series of chops. Bayley suddenly dumped Charlotte out of the ring and crawled to make the tag but Charlotte attacked Sasha from the outside.

Bayley tried again and finally tagged Sasha in. She hit the double knees from the top rope before hitting Charlotte with the double knees in the corner. Dana then came in and hit the Wasteland on Emma.

Charlotte looked to take advantage and hit Sasha with the Natural Selection but Sasha reversed it into a Banks Statement as Charlotte tapped out.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman address the WWE Universe

Brock Lesnar came out with the Universal Title on his shoulder and Paul Heyman at his side. The crowd popped big for Lesnar as he made his way down to the ring.

Heyman cut a promo saying that he was going to get a little personal. He then revealed how he was going to tell a story Brock told his kids – the story of a man called Goldberg who got destroyed by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

He then announced that now that Goldberg was gone, Brock needed new challenges and new challengers. After Heyman indicated that Roman would be the next person to face Brock, chants of “We want Balor” broke out.

At this point, Braun Strowman’s music hit and he came down and went nose-to-nose with Brock Lesnar, even pushing him at one point. Lesnar smiled and laid down to title between them before Braun walked away.

Chris Jericho was backstage giving an interview when he was jumped by Kevin Owens. Owens was soon joined by Samoa Joe and the duo beat Jericho up before Powerbombing him through a table backstage.

Sheamus and Cesaro vs Enzo and Cass (#1 contender’s match)

Enzo and Cass started the match off strong. Cesaro started with a clothesline and attempted another before Enzo countered. Cesaro then suplexed Enzo into his own corner before Enzo tagged Cass. Cesaro, in turn, tagged Sheamus in.

We came back from commercial to see Cesaro and Sheamus in control. Enzo tried to make a tag but Cesaro hit him with a double stomp. Sheamus tagged himself back in but Enzo hit him with a tornado DDT before Sheamus was forced to tag Cesaro back in.

Cesaro hit Enzo with an uppercut before hitting him with a Cesaro Swing. Cesaro then locked in a Sharpshooter but Cass came and hit him with a big boot. He followed it up with a big boot to Sheamus.

Cass then hit Sheamus with a big boot. Big Cass tried to set up an Air Enzo but Sheamus came back into to hit Cass with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus then tossed Enzo at Cesaro who hit him with an uppercut and pinned him.

Sami Zayn vs Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal attacked Sami as he posed for fans on the apron. The early attack led to Jinder controlling the opening moments of this match. Jinder hit Sami with fists and knees but Sami wouldn’t be discouraged.

Sami fought back by hitting Jinder with an exploder suplex which he followed it up with a Helluva Kick to make short work of Mahal.

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor vs Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe

Rollins’ surprise partner turned out to be Finn Balor, who finally returned from injury.

KO tagged himself out as soon as the bell rang as Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins. KO immediately tagged himself out as Joe and Rollins went at it. Joe came in and hit Rollins before tagging KO back in. Rollins managed to tag Balor in as Balor hit Owens with an enzeguiri followed by a running dropkick at ringside.

Balor tagged in Rollins as Owens retreated to ringside as Rollins hit a suicide dive on Owens. When Joe chased him away, he hit both of them with tope con heiro.

Back in the ring, Owens kicked Rollins’ injured knee before hitting a snap DDT and tagging Joe back in. Joe hit Rollins with the running elbow and enzeguiri combo. Joe and KO continued trading tags and punishing Rollins’ injured knee.

Rollins looked to make a tag but Joe hit him with a Kneecapper and followed it up with a senton. He went for a second but Rollins dodged and hit Joe with an enzeguiri.

Both men made tags as Balor came in and cleaned house. He hit Ownes with a series of strikes and kicks before hitting running knife-edged chops in the corner. Balor followed it up with a running PK to Samoa Joe before attempting Coup De Grace on Owens which missed.

Owens got some offence in but Balor hit back with a Slingblade. Joe then came in and attempted a Coquina Clutch but Rollins hit him with a Flying Knee before KO superkicked him. Balor came back in and hit Owens with a dropkick before heading to the top rope and hitting the Coup De Grace.

Balor then covered Owens for the pinfall.

Goldberg made a surprise appearance after the main-event. He told the fans that he wasn’t the same destroyer who he used to be and now all he cared about was his family. He then pointed at his wife and especially his son – saying all he did now was for his family.

He then invited his son into the ring and recalled about the time when he took the WWE Universal Championship to hs sons school and in that moment, what he felt was immeasurable. Goldberg then added that this may be the last time the fans see him in a WWE ring although he added that fans never knew who or what would be next for him.

After the speech, Goldberg bowed out for the fans with most of the fans giving him a standing ovation.
