What’s the story?

Viewers of SmackDown Live this week are in for a treat as long-term injured Superstar Luke Harper is said to be slated to appear, PWInsider.com are reporting.

In case you didn’t know…

Luke Harper has been off of WWE television since both himself and Erick Rowan suffered injuries back in August while WWE were in the middle of severely ramping up a push for their team, the Bludgeon Brothers.

Harper was first signed by the WWE in 2012 under the company’s developmental territory of FCW, which was rebranded to NXT later that year and would very quickly align himself with Bray Wyatt under the moniker of The Wyatt Family.

While in NXT, Harper and Rowan successfully won the NXT Tag Team Championships and Harper then won his first singles championship when he captured the WWE Intercontinental Title after moving to the main roster.

After a short stint in the main event scene and what seemed to be the beginning of a huge singles push, Harper and Rowan would be reunited as the Bludgeon Brothers before both were shelved due to injury. Rowan returned to join forces with Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble.

The heart of the matter

PWInsider.com are reporting that Luke Harper is scheduled to be at SmackDown Live at Toledo, Ohio, this week ahead of an imminent return to the ring.

Harper had been injured and has been backstage sporting a cast, but recently underwent a rigorous recovery and rehabilitation that saw him training in the Performance Center ahead of his comeback.

Meanwhile, he looks set to be repackaged as his most recent gimmick was with Rowan, who is now aligned with WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

What’s next?

Well, only time will tell. Thankfully tomorrow isn't too far away!
