This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live took place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. After an average episode of Monday Night Raw, the blue brand gave the fans something to cheer about. Just before the show began, SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan offered Randy Orton to sign the contract ahead of his match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
The hottest free agent Heath Slater, with a fruit basket for Shane and Bryan (tossed an apple to Orton), interrupted them and mentioned about the contract Shane was willing to offer him last week before talking about his face-off with Brock Lesnar on RAW last night.
The segment came to an end with Orton biting the apple and pitching in with an idea. What was it? Maybe a match against Slater?

Miz TV with the champion and challenger
SmackDown Live kick started with Maryse giving her husband and the WWE Intercontinental champion, The Miz a great introduction. WWE champion Dean Ambrose and the challenger for his title Dolph Ziggler were the guests for Miz’s show Miz TV.
Miz welcomed the WWE universe but was interrupted by Dean Ambrose, who claimed that he can’t stand Miz’s voice and Ziggler followed him to the ring.
Ambrose and Ziggler exchanged words and looked ready to fight, but Miz got in between them and reminded them that it was his show and they were his guests. He invited them to talk, not fight. They ended up cutting great promos as Miz and Maryse watched from the corner.
Ziggler laid Ambrose out with a superkick right in the middle of a sensational promo to end the segment.

After the segment came to an end and the show went for a commercial, Miz turned his attention to his opponent at SummerSlam, Appolo Creed Crews. Crews made his way to the ring and delivered a powerbomb to Miz
12-man tag team match
Former WWE tag team champions The Usos teamed up with the American Alpha and the Hype Bros to take on the Vaude Villains, Breezango and the Ascension.
The babyfaces won the match easily, thanks to American Alpha’s Grand Amplitude on Aiden English.

Eva Marie vs Naomi
Naomi walked out to the ring with a new entrance, which was a visual treat for the fans. Eva Marie’s voiceover gave her a grand introduction and followed it with an announcement stating Eva is stuck in traffic and will be unable to compete tonight.

There was a backstage interaction between AJ Styles and Alberto Del Rio and it was followed by Curt Hawkins fact. Curt Hawkins set to return to SmackDown Live soon.
Randy Orton vs Heath Slater
Heath Slater beat Randy Orton via disqualification as the Viper failed to obey the referee’s orders.
After the match, Orton attacked Slater outside the ring and brought him back to the ring. He mocked Brock Lesnar by delivering a couple of German suplexes and mimiced the beast's mannerism before hitting an RKO.

As he made his way to the locker room, Wyatt Family’s music hit and Bray, along with Eric Rowan made their way to the ring and had a face-off with Orton.
Before the match started, there was a backstage conversation between Shane McMahon, Daniel Bryan and Heath Slater.
Dean Ambrose vs Eric Rowan
Dean Ambrose beat Eric Rowan by delivering the dirty deeds on Rowan.
After the match, Wyatt starred at a sheep mask in his hand before dropping it on the chair and walked off with his back to Rowan. Mauro Ranallo speculated that this could be the end of Rowan and Wyatt.

Becky Lynch and Carmella vs Natalya and Alexa Bliss
Somehow Eva Marie survived the traffic and made her way to the arena as she tried to distract Becky before Eva’s scheduled opponent for the night Naomi came out to take Eva out.
In the meantime, Becky and Carmella defeated Natalya and Alexa after the former locked Natalya in the Dis-arm-her to win.

Becky Lynch, Carmella and Naomi vs Eva Marie, Natalya and Alexa Bliss was made official for SummerSlam.
Baron Corbin beat up Kalisto again as there was a promo for the SummerSlam match between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton.
John Cena vs Alberto Del Rio
John Cena’s opponent at SummerSlam AJ Styles was at the ringside as a commentator as Cena squared off against Alberto Del Rio.
John Cena beat Del Rio with an Attitude Adjustment. After the match got over, Styles hit Cena with a phenomenal forearm and when he was delivering a Styles’ clash, Cena converted it to an AA in the middle of the ring.
Cena pulled Styles outside the ring and delivered yet another AA from the steel steps over the announcers table to end the show.
