Justin Bonsignore is set to make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at New Hampshire

Three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) champion Justin Bonsignore has announced his arrival in the NASCAR world.

Joe Gibbs Racing announced on Thursday (May 16) that Bonsignore will make his Xfinity Series debut next month at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Bonsignore will drive JGR’s #19 Toyota GR Supra in the SciAps 200 at the 1.058-mile short track in Loudon, New Hampshire, on June 22. He will be joined by teammates Sheldon Creed, John Hunter Nemechek, Ryan Truex, and Chandler Smith at New Hampshire.

In a team release, Steve DeSouza, the EVP of NASCAR Xfinity Series/Development at JGR, said:

“We’re thrilled to have Justin in our car at New Hampshire. He’s a driver with a rich short-track racing resume and represents the heart of modified racing in the northeast. To put him in one of our cars at a track that he’s built a legacy at is going to be a lot of fun for us, and even more so for the fans.”

Justin Bonsignore has won 41 times in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Series, with his most recent victory coming at Richmond Raceway this season. With 41 wins in the series, he placed fourth on the all-time NWMT win list. He also holds 30 career pole awards, which place him fourth on the all-time list.

Bonsignore claimed his maiden championship in 2018 and followed it up with back-to-back championships in 2020 and 2021.

Bonsignore made his ARCA Menards Series debut at Dayton International Speedway this season. He finished P32 in the #30 for Rette Jones Racing.

“An exciting chance on this national stage” - Justin Bonsignore on his NASCAR Xfinity debut

The 36-year-old New York native has won race-point-paying races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the NWMT series.

Bonsignore is excited about making his Xfinity debut with championship-winning team JGR. In a team release, speaking about his Xfinity debut, he said:

“Having the opportunity to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing at New Hampshire is truly the chance of a lifetime. I love driving modifieds and that will always be my home, where we hope to win many more races and championships. But, having the opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with such an established, winning organization like Joe Gibbs Racing is such an exciting chance on this national stage.”

It will be interesting to see how Justin Bonsignore copes with challenges at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on his Truck Series debut.
