Gavin Kuld came out all-guns-blazing against the Colorado Buffaloes QB1 Shedeur Sanders in an explosive interview. The former Colorado QB revealed the ‘bad blood’ between him and head coach Deion Sanders' son. This came after Kuld’s decision to transfer out of Boulder earlier this month.

The North Carolina native played two games for the Buffaloes in the 2023 season, with three pass attempts and one completion. According to him, Shedeur made it clear that he couldn't be the backup quarterback this year. Here is what he said in an interview that is now private on YouTube.

“The second I came in, he told the coaching staff that I would never be, I would never have the chance to be the backup quarterback. Then he would never coach me. I sat there and watched him talk to the other four quarterbacks all spring, you know, ‘what would you be doing in this play? What are you reading here?’ And he was completely mute to me,” Kuld said in the interview.

The former Northeastern Oklahoma A&M QB revealed what he believed may have led to the situation.

“I don't know if it was the bad blood we had last year cause we had something individual going on and I called him out on it inside of our own room. He got real defensive with me in that conversation,” he added.

Kuld did not get any snaps at the Black and Gold game last month. While Shedeur took snaps with the first team, freshman Ryan Staub led the second-team offense.

Gavin Kuld’s decision to transfer out of Colorado

Earlier this month, Gavin Kuld took to X to announce his decision to enter the transfer portal. In his post, he thanked the Buffs nation for all the memories that he said would leave an everlasting impression on his life. He also thanked head coach Deion Sanders and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. He gave a special shoutout to QB assistant coach Nathan Dodson for believing in him.

Gavin Kuld is yet to commit to a new team, though he has revealed a couple of scholarship offers he has got. The first one was from Mars Hill University, and he got another one from Sul Ross State. It remains to be seen where he goes to play with two years of his college eligibility remaining. And most importantly, did he do the right thing by airing out his grievances in public?
