"Gameplay is probably going to be bad" - Asmongold says Assassin's Creed Shadows' main character's race won't be in "top 10 problems"

Zack “Asmongold” has never been a content creator to shy away from controversy, and he recently opened up about Assassin’s Creed Shadows as well. Many have given their arguments on why they think the game will be bad, and it’s almost entirely been focused on the race of the main protagonist, Yasuke. For those unaware, Yasuke was an African warrior in Japan, who served under Oda Nobunaga in the Sengoku Jidai - Warring States era.

The co-owner of OTK claimed that the game’s going to have more than enough problems to worry about, and according to him, the race of Yasuke won’t be in the top ten. Instead, there will be many other infuriating things to worry about, like the cost, and the gameplay itself:

“The PC version probably won’t work. The gameplay is probably gonna be bad.”

Asmongold claims Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have enough problems to worry about

Asmongold’s May 16, 2024 stream featured a bit of discussion about Assassin’s Creed Shadows toward the beginning. Unlike many, who choose to target what they perceive as “woke ideology” being added to a game they’re excited about, However, there’s far more to be worried about in this game.

The above video also showed a previous discussion, where Asmongold felt that perhaps Ubisoft chose Yasuke, so instead of focusing on the bad pricing decisions that the company continues to use, fans will instead be mad about the protagonist:

“This is exactly what they did in Star Wars. They’re doing it again! Everybody’s mad about the character. Maybe this is their strategy. Add in a main character for a game that’s really controversial, and that way, it’ll distract people from the fact that you’re trying to get them to spend $130 for the f**kin’ game!”

However, according to Asmongold, when this game comes out, it’s going to have several problems, which aren’t uncommon in Ubisoft games. He listed off an assortment of issues the game could no doubt face, and none of them were about the race of Yasuke.

According to Zack, his race won’t even be in the “top 10”:

“Really, there’s probably gonna be issues downloading the game, graphics, the PC version probably won’t work, the gameplay is probably gonna be bad, there’s probably an anti-cheat issue where they have Denuovo, and it goes down to like 20 fps unless you have a NASA computer.”

The streamer felt there was far more to be worried about the upcoming game. Instead of focusing on something like a character’s race, they should instead focus on the pricing of Assassin’s Creed Shadows Ultimate Edition and the other issues the game will no doubt face, according to the streamer.
