F1 Penalty Points: Drivers' penalty points after 2024 Imola GP

F1 Grand Prix of Miami - Sprint

The F1 Penalty points system was put in place to maintain the driving standards under a certain threshold. For a driver, these points are awarded in case there is a transgression during a race weekend. These transgressions or misdemeanors could range from pushing the other car off the track, or driving dangerously.

The myriad of these misdemeanors lead to different number of F1 penalty points depending on their severity. On the current grid, the one man who is walking a tightrope is Kevin Magnussen. The Danish driver known for his 'no-inch-given' driving style has accumulated 10 points.

If a driver reaches 12 points, he gets a race ban, and each of these points stay on the driver's quota for 12 months. The Imola GP race weekend was not the one that had too many misdemeanors. Only Oscar Piastri was given a 3-place grid penalty for impeding during qualifying.

With that being said, Where do the drivers stand in terms of penalty points after the F1 Imola GP? Let's take a look.
