Lewis Hamilton was recently seen in a promotional YouTube video for the official Mercedes F1 team channel, in which he read a few mean tweets about himself.

Even though he is one of the most successful F1 drivers in history and an icon in pop culture, not everyone is a fan. There are thousands of people who dislike him and spew negative comments about him and recently read some of them.

The video started off with some mean tweets about Lewis Hamilton's outfits and how frequently he speaks about curing the world and bringing more peace to everyone. The seven-time world champion simply chuckled and stated:

"What do you want me to say? I'm a positive guy!"

Further into the video, there was a tweet about how Lewis Hamilton can drive so fast but is scared of onions. This was a reference to an old clip where Lewis Hamilton was extremely scared of an onion that was placed by his friends on the dashboard of his road car.

In the clip, Hamilton is screaming and trying to get the onion out without touching it. The Briton simply breezed past the tweet without reacting to it.

In the end, Hamilton simply stated that these tweets were not too bad and that he is well aware that not everyone in the world likes him. He said:

"These aren't really that bad! But I just want to say to everyone that has an opinion, everyone has a right to an opinion. Anyone out there that does not like me, that's totally fine. You're not supposed to love everyone in the world. So, I wish you nothing but positivity and I appreciate still the comments because they are pretty funny, to be honest."

Mercedes team boss believes Lewis Hamilton is still driven to win another world title

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff believes that Lewis Hamilton still has the fire in his belly to win his eighth title. Furthermore, Wolff stated that the team has a strong and close relationship with the Briton, removing any doubts about Hamilton's future. He said, as quoted by Formula Passion:

"I have no doubt that he is motivated to achieve this, this is what he loves to do, this is his ability. Personally, we have a great relationship with him and within the team, he has been one of the strongest pillars of the last ten years, so we are in a really good position."

After Mercedes was unable to develop a championship-winning car, several people started speculating whether the seven-time F1 world champion would stay with the Silver Arrows or not. However, Hamilton has stated that he is loyal to his team and will continue to work hard to push them forward.
