Departing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hailed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as the best manager in the world. He acknowledged City's 115 charges but stated that no other manager could've achieved what Guardiola did at the club.

The Premier League has charged the Cityzens with 115 counts of financial breaches over the years. The case is still being investigated and the result is still pending. Meanwhile, Manchester City are just one win away from their fourth consecutive Premier League title, a feat never achieved before in the English top-flight.

Klopp, who has had numerous battles with Guardiola in recent years, hailed the Spaniard in a recent interview, saying (via City Xtra):

"Everybody knows about the 115 charges [at #ManCity], but I have no clue what that means. I only know the number. No matter what has transpired at @ManCity, Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world - and that is truly significant...
"Put any other manager in #ManCity, they don't win the #PL four times in a row. That's down to him [Pep Guardiola] and his team. Does that mean they can do whatever they want? No. But I don't know what they did - if anything - and I'm not here to say they have...
"We'll see. Of course, I'd like to know [if #ManCity are guilty] one day. Everyone wants to know. But I'll be somewhere else. The quality of Pep makes the difference so I don't worry about these things. It's not my problem.."

Manchester City have won five of the last six Premier League titles. They could add another on Sunday (May 19) if they beat West Ham United at the Etihad on the final matchday of the league season.

A look at Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola rivalry

The two iconic managers have faced off 30 times, with Jurgen Klopp winning 12 times, losing 11 times, and drawing seven times. Eight of those 30 meetings came in German football when Klopp was at Borussia Dortmund and Pep Guardiola managed Bayern Munich.

Out of the 22 times they've faced off with Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, Klopp has won eight times. Guardiola has won seven times while the remaining seven have been draws, including the two draws this season.

The duo have competed for multiple Premier League titles over the years, with Manchester City winning most of them. They beat Liverpool to the title by one point on two separate occasions (2022-23 and 2018-19). They played out a 1-1 draw in both fixtures this season.
