Juventus chief Cristiano Giuntoli has taken a brutal dig at Manchester United over the potential transfer of Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer transfer window.

The Brazilian centre-half has been amazing for the Old Lady. However, United have been linked with the player and are reportedly ready to pay Bremer's release clause.

Raphael Varane will leave United this summer as a free agent. Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans are facing uncertain futures as well. Hence, the Red Devils are keen on bolstering their defense in the summer. Players like Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi, Bremer, and others have been linked with a move to United.

Giuntoli, however, has claimed that Bremer is untouchable and they would only consider selling for a fee of around €100 million. He said (via The Peoples Person):

"Bremer, Vlahovic, and Cambiaso are untouchable, the others, can be reasoned with. These are assessments that will be up to the new coach given that Allegri's adventure is over."

He further added that Juve will play in the UEFA Champions League next season while Manchester United could miss out on European football. Giuntoli said:

"Not for the 60 million of the clause, a hundred would be needed [to sell Bremer]. I am convinced that he'll stay in Turin. Juve will play the Champions League and the Club World Cup, what would he do at United."

Bremer's release clause is worth €60 million with his contract expiring in 2028.

Manchester United target Gleison Bremer's performances this season

Gleison Bremer has been rock solid for Juventus this season. The Brazilian has made 39 appearances across competitions, keeping 19 clean sheets. Juve have conceded only 25 goals in Bremer's presence.

However, as Giuntoli noted, Manchester United might need to spend well above that sum to convince the Bianconeri to sell Bremer. Considering United could miss out on European football next season, convincing Bremer could also be difficult.

Manchester United are eighth in the Premier League table, level on points with Newcastle United (7th) but behind by 24 on goal difference. They could also qualify for Europe by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
