Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: All Alteration Altar locations

Alteration Altars were first introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 4. When players interact with these mysterious shrines or sorts, they are given Howler Claws.

This melee mythic can be used to slice and dice through opponents and structures with ease. While it isn't the best weapon in-game, it does make close-range combat interesting.

Getting to one of these Alteration Altars first is of the utmost importance, as players will gain an early-game advantage. However, with nine of them present on the map, finding one will not be a problem.

All Alteration Altars in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4

Snow/mountain biome

While Chrome continues to ravage the island, the snow/mountain biome has been relatively untouched by this mysterious substance; that was until the update v22.20.

However, with an Alteration Altar present in the area, it's worth landing here to grab a pair of Howler Claws. Here's where to find it:

• Chromejam Junction

Since Chromejam Junctions see some heavy early-game fights in some matches, landing in the area is risky. With plenty of high ground and houses to hide in, being ambushed is easy. Players who manage to land fast and use the Alteration Altar will have higher odds of survival.

Grassland biome

With each passing update, the Chrome biome present on the island expands. It will slowly consume the grass biome and will eventually create a sheet of silvery-white substance as far as the eye can see.

Nevertheless, for the time being, there's still plenty of grass and Alteration Altars to interact with in this biome. Here are their locations:

• Shiny Sound
• Lustrous Lagoon
• Shimmering Shine

Considering that Shimmering Shine and Lustrous Lagoon are often hot-drop locations, the Alteration Altar at Shiny Sound is the best option for players. Although it is not the best place to rotate from, it's not impossible to do so, either.

The desert biome in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is slowly being consumed by Chrome. While much of the area is still sand and dirt, a silvery-white sheet can be seen spreading far and wide.

Despite the dangers and lack of cover, those willing to navigate the risks can find two Alteration Altars in this biome:

• Flutter Barn
• Cloudy Condos

Choosing between Flutter Barn and Cloudy Condos is rather difficult. With both POIs being hot-drop locations, neither one of them is safe. Flutter Barn will be the easiest option to land at and activate the Alteration Altar.

Alien biome

Despite Chrome spreading rapidly, the Alien biome is somehow resisting it. It's unclear how, but it must have something to do with the Reality Tree.

Three Alteration Altars can be found within this biome. Here are their locations:

• Reality Tree

Since there are three Alteration Altars located southeast, northeast, and east of the Reality Tree, players who manage to land fast will be able to complete the ritual. However, since all of them are in close proximity to each other, there will be a lot of competition to stay alive. It's best to avoid this POI and try elsewhere.
