Chrome is the theme of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 and is well on its way to consuming the entire island. Although this substance is bad in general, it does have a few redeeming properties. It can heal players and structures alike and allow characters to enter a Blob form to mitigate fire and fall damage.

However, its most amazing property is that it allows players to phase through walls effortlessly. Despite this feature existing since the start of the season, not everyone has hopped onto that hype train. To encourage players into using this feature, Epic Games is giving 20,000 XP to those who phase through a Chrome wall and deal damage to an opponent within 30 seconds.

How to phase through a Chrome wall and deal damage to an opponent within 30 seconds in Fortnite - A step-by-step guide

1) Land and find a safe spot to gear up (ensure the area has been consumed by Chrome)

The most important thing to keep in mind when completing this challenge is securing good loot. Without proper gear and healing supplies, players will not be able to engage in combat with opponents. That said, choosing the right location is crucial.

The goal is to land at a POI that has been consumed by Chrome or has Chrome elements in and around the area. This will ensure that even if there are no Chrome walls, Chrome Splash can be harvested and used to turn them into Chrome.

A few good locations are Chrome Crossroads, Sunken Suburbs (north of Shiny Sound), and Gleaming Condosseum (northeast of Cloudy Condos).

2) Look for Chrome structures in the area that have a passable wall

After looting, the next step will be to get into position near a Chrome wall and wait for an enemy to pass by. Those who enjoy playing aggressively can seek out opponents next to Chrome structures. Whichever method works best on an individual level can be used.

Once in position or on the hunt, the goal is not to attack the enemy outright. Players have to first phase through a Chrome wall before engaging in combat. Failing to do so will not further the progress of the challenge.

3) Phase through the Chrome wall to deal damage

Once an enemy has been spotted, phase through the Chrome wall and open fire. Depending on the POI and distance from the target, players will have to use the appropriate weapons for the task. That said, they will only have 30 seconds to complete the task.

If a total of 75 damage cannot be inflicted on an opponent within 30 seconds, players will have to try again. Thankfully, progress will not reset if players fail to complete it the first time. It will pick up from exactly where it was left and players are free to try again later.
