Minecraft just got 12 new tracks for Tricky Trials, perfectly capturing the essence of the upcoming update. An announcement was made on the game's official X account for the soundtrack's release, with a link that takes players to the album. What’s great is that the album is available on all major music streaming platforms.

Minecraft has always had a great score that captures the game's ambiance. While the original score was composed by Daniel Rosenfeld, otherwise known as C418, this album was composed by Aaron Cherof, Kumi Tanioka, and Lena Raine.

Here’s everything about the album and the Tricky Trials update.

Minecraft gets new soundtracks

The upcoming Minecraft 1.21 update will bring about major changes. So it seems fitting for Mojang to release an entire album dedicated to the upcoming patch. Tricky Trials gets many things right and gives players what they've been asking for.

The soundtrack has 12 songs, and most of them are around five minutes long. But the interesting thing is their composition. One can find a resemblance with the game's original score, but the songs also have another layer that makes them sound evolved.

This is in line with the update that takes everything great about the game and makes it even better, like the weapons. For years, Minecraft had the sword and axe as the main melee options; the Tricky Trials update adds the mace as a new weapon, and it has an interesting mechanic.

While the mace is powerful, it can be made even more powerful by delivering a blow from a height. So players can use the wind charge, which also comes with the update, to jump higher than normal and then deliver a successful blow.

Adding the mace not only increases the number of melee weapons but also makes using it more challenging and fun. Another interesting aspect is the trial chambers, a palatial underground structure that houses most of the items coming in the update.

The trial chamber has the breeze mob, which is a hostile mob that gives the breeze rod and wind charge. It also houses the trial key and the vault.
