Mojang Studios introduced a brand-new mob called breeze in October 2023 that will be added to the Minecraft 1.21 update. This new mob will spawn in the new trial chamber structures and have several unique features. When it was announced, the developers did not disclose what the mob could drop when it was killed. However, they have worked thoroughly on it and created a new item to drop as loot.

The short answer is yes. The breeze mob will drop loot in the Minecraft 1.21 update.

When the breeze mob was introduced, many players drew parallels between it and existing mobs like the Blaze from the Nether. Hence, they speculated that the mob could drop a rod-like item that could be used in various ways. At first, Mojang Studios did not add any drop loot for the new mob.

However, as they began developing the new entity, they initially introduced wind charge as a ranged weapon that breeze could drop. This made a lot of sense, as the mob shoots these balls of wind charges toward players when in a hostile state. Mojang Studios eventually added a brand-new item called the breeze rod that will replace wind charges as the breeze's official drop loot.

When players kill the breeze, they can get anywhere between one to eight breeze rods from them, depending on the looting enchantment on weapons.

How to use breeze rod?

Once players obtain breeze rods, they can primarily be used to craft wind charges. Wind charges are ranged weapons that can knock any entity away. One breeze rod will yield four wind charges when placed on a crafting table.

Furthermore, breeze rods can also be used to craft a brand-new melee weapon called a mace. Along with a breeze rod, players will also require a heavy core that can be found in trial chamber vaults. The mace’s attack damage infinitely increases with the player’s falling height.

Lastly, breeze rods can be used to duplicate the new flow armor trim smithing template. Players have a 6.2% chance of finding this new armor trim from the vault block in trial chambers.
