Alyse Anderson recalls daunting task of fighting Stamp Fairtex: "She is harder to take down than opponents think”

Alyse Anderson knows firsthand how nerve-racking it is to face former two-sport ONE world champion Stamp Fairtex.

According to the American MMA star, those who battle the Thai fan-favorite have to be physically and mentally ready both inside and outside the Circle.

‘Lil Savage’ recalled what it’s like trading leather with Stamp, ahead of her quest for three-sport supremacy this coming Friday.

The no.1 ranked atomweight MMA contender will duke it out with Ham Seo Hee in the headlining act of ONE Fight Night 14 on September 29, in ONE's return to Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Anderson fought Stamp last May in the promotion’s historic United States debut at ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver, Colorado.

Even before she stepped foot inside the Circle, Anderson said dealing with Stamp’s undeniable star power and her massive rabid fanbase were already a daunting task.

She said in an interview with MMA Mania:

“I would say fighting Stamp was not only a physical challenge but mentally too because of how big of a name she is and how much the promotion promotes her. I see it even with the Ham fight coming up. Ham is going to have to block out all the social media because I think it can be challenging mentally too. At least it was for me.”

That pressure is intensified further once the fight starts, given Stamp’s dynamic and well-rounded skills.

For instance, Anderson tried to bully the natural striker using her grappling pedigree but found out it was much easier said than done. She continued:

“Stamp also likes to draw fighters in so I had to be wary of that but push the pace at the same time. I think what makes her stand out is that she is harder to take down than opponents think because she is good at timing her striking.”

Stamp added another entry to her growing highlight reel by decking Anderson in round 2 with a nasty liver kick heard around the world.
