Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight MMA world champion ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade says it was his plan all along to fight kickboxing and win a belt in the world’s largest martial arts organization. But because of his success in mixed martial arts, that dream got pushed back.
Now, Andrade has the opportunity to realize a lifelong dream, and then some.
‘Wonder Boy’ is set to face ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty in the main event of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video.
The event will be broadcast live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, November 3. The fight will be for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title. If Andrade wins, he will become a rare two-sport ONE world champion.

Speaking in a recent interview with FightWave, Andrade talked about his journey in ONE so far, and why everything is coming full circle for him.
The 26-year-old said:
“It has been awesome. After I became a world champion in MMA, that was a dream of mine and now I have the opportunity to fight for another belt in a different sport – that’s kickboxing... Of course, before I signed with ONE Championship, I was more active in kickboxing and I had a dream of becoming a world champion in kickboxing as well, but I never got the opportunity. I was fighting in China but I never got the chance to fight for the belt there.
“Even in ONE after I signed, they were more interested in keeping me fighting in MMA because I was doing good in MMA and after all of that I finally got the opportunity to go back and finally become the world champion in kickboxing. So I’m very excited to finally be able to do something like that.”
