ONE lightweight MMA superstar ‘Super’ Sage Northcutt has nothing but kind words for two-division king Christian Lee as the latter eyes a return to competition following the passing of Victoria last year.

The ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion took time off at the turn of the year after his youngest sister took her own life on Boxing Day of 2022.

While Angela admitted that Christian has been staying in shape for an imminent return to the global stage of ONE, ‘The Warrior’ used his time away to focus on more than just that, as he helped the youngest of the Lee siblings, Adrian, climb up the local circuit and kept his close circle in good spirits.

When he does return, many are expecting him to produce another moment of brilliance under the ONE spotlight, and Sage Northcutt is no different.

Speaking exclusively to The MMA Superfan, the Evolve MMA and Team Alpha Male athlete said:

“Christian Lee is an amazing amazing champion, and he has a great style, always super exciting. He’s right up there, and, you know, he’s just been so dominant.”

Dominance is Christian’s middle name, after all.

The Hawaii-based martial artist has built a reputation as one of the finest talents across any organization in MMA, winning all but one of his 17 career wins by way of finish. Even his unanimous decision win over Dagi Arslanaliev was a fight he took on short notice.

Sage Northcutt remains open to Christian Lee scrap

On his end, Sage Northcutt wants to light up the ONE Circle with another explosive performance after a quick 39-second submission win over Ahmed Mujtaba at the promotion’s on-ground debut card in North America, ONE Fight Night 10, in May.

Now, the 27-year-old hopes to rebook his clash against former ONE lightweight kingpin Shinya Aoki and climb the ladder in the talent-jammed division.

Should he pass that hypothetical mission with flying colors, the multi-time karate world champion admits that he will have his eyes on Christian’s prized possession.

In the same interview, ‘Super’ Sage said:

“That'd be a fun fight, yeah.”
