Mateusz Gamrot believes mental warfare will be a huge aspect of the middleweight title bout between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira.

As far as skills go, Adesanya and Pereira are regarded as two of the best strikers in the UFC. With that in mind, Gamrot is of the opinion that it will come down to the mental aspect of the game.

Speaking with Andrew Whitelaw of Sportskeeda MMA, the No.9-ranked UFC lightweight said:

"Interesting fight, interesting matchup. Two times Adesanya lost [against] Pereira, but this was kickboxing match. Now it's different because it's small gloves and different rules. We'll see, but for sure he has the things in the head. The most important [thing in] this fight, I think, is gonna be mentally performance ."

Considering their past two meetings, Pereira should have the edge in terms of confidence as he has beaten Adesanya twice before. However, this will be the first time the pair will fight under MMA rules, and Adesanya is far more experienced in the sport than his opponent.

Mateusz Gamrot believes Bo Nickal can beat Israel Adesanya for the belt

After training with Bo Nickal, Mateusz Gamrot believes that the UFC newcomer is the real deal.

'Gamer' event went as far as claiming that Nickal is capable of beating reigning middleweight champ Israel Adesanya. The rising lightweight star told Sportskeeda MMA:

"Bo Nickal is really, really, really [a] beast. I like to train with him. He is [a] wrestler, I am [a] wrestler. We have same vibes and maybe this is funny but I think so. Now that Bo signed the contract with the UFC, he has 3-0 record, but I think he can beat [the] champion. Because [the] champion is Izzy, is Adesanya... But he is just striker. Bo is [a] brutal wrestler guy and I think so, maybe this next fight meeting with Izzy [Israel Adesanya]... [he will] beat him."

Gamrot will be in action against fellow lightweight contender Beneil Dariush on the main card of UFC 280 this Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
