“The craziest back and forth Muay Thai fight ever” - Fans still rave about Rodtang and Superlek absolute war

Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 continue to be the subjects of praise and admiration from the fans weeks after their violent and dramatic Muay Thai battle at ONE Friday Fights 34.

The memorable show between the two flyweight world champions on September 22 was the perfect example of a classic Muay Thai fight.

The first round saw some of the best striking exchanges fans had seen in a long time. Superlek Kiatmoo9, the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion, focused on combinations that included low leg kicks followed by straight jabs and hooks.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon, the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, answered with great counters of his own, including leg kicks, elbows, left hooks, and knees. Both men showed no fear as they desperately chased the finish, but Rodtang drew first blood.

With only a minute left in the first round, Superlek walked into his opponent’s left elbow which immediately opened a gash in the middle of his head. Despite absorbing an excessive amount of damage, it didn’t stop Superlek from moving forward.

He gauged distance a lot better in the second, scoring the only knockdown in the match by wearing Rodtang down with knees and elbows against the ropes. By the third round, both warriors had absorbed each other’s best strikes.

After putting everything on the line, Superlek was named the victor by unanimous decision. Now, with an immediate rematch quite possibly in the works, fans have taken the time to share their thoughts on the entertaining brawl and how hyped they are for the sequel.
