"This fight should be fun" - Tawanchai expects Stamp to defend her atomweight MMA throne at ONE 167

Tawanchai PK Saenchai believes Stamp Fairtex will be victorious in her first world title defense in the main event of ONE 167.

The Fairtex Training Center athlete puts her ONE atomweight MMA world title on the line against her former sparring partner inside the Impact Arena in U.S. primetime on June 7.

Weighing in on the fight in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, the featherweight Muay Thai king has no doubt that Stamp will leave with another crowning achievement come fight night.

Tawanchai shared:

"This fight should be fun, as Denice Zamboanga will want to become the atomweight world champion. But I'm rooting for Stamp and I know she will get the win."

Before the two atomweight MMA superstars throw down in Bangkok, Thailand, Tawanchai puts his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title on the line against Jo Nattawut.

Stamp's evolution is there for all to see

As game as Zamboanga is, Stamp has practically looked unstoppable since falling short in her first world title bid against then-divisional queen, Angela Lee.

The Pattaya-based fighter has won three on the trot in MMA with a decision win against Jihin Radzuan and highlight-reel triumphs at the expense of Alyse Anderson and Ham Seo Hee.

Through those displays, there seems to be a more all-out approach from the three-sport queen when she's zeroing in on enemies on the feet.

Meanwhile, her grappling game seems to be enjoying a similar trajectory, one that could come in handy against Zamboanga's typical grappling-heavy game when they lock horns next month.

As such, with the right tactics, the Fairtex Training Center athlete shouldn't be in for too much of a surprise against Zamboanga.

She's taken out the best of the best in the stacked atomweight MMA division, and the Filipina warrior will be another test that shouldn't be a barrier too difficult to overcome for the defending queen.
