Tye Ruotolo on the cusp of ONE Championship world title: “I’m ready to go”

American submission grappling phenom Tye Ruotolo, one half of the famous Ruotolo twins of jiu-jitsu, is ready to follow in the footsteps of his brother Kade, the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, as a titleholder in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

20-year-old Tye Ruotolo is set to face dangerous Russian opponent Magomed Abdulkadirov in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video. The event will be broadcast live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, November 3.

The winner will be crowned the inaugural ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion.

Speaking to The MMA Superfan in a recent interview, Ruotolo expressed confidence he would get his hand raised at the end of the night and reach the pinnacle of his career as a jiu-jitsu fighter.

The 20-year-old phenom said:

“It’s on, I'm on the biggest platform possible for jiu-jitsu, and about to get the biggest title, so I'm just overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to perform.”

Ruotolo is just weeks away from achieving the goal he set out to do when he and his twin brother joined ONE Championship in May 2022. He has won all four of his contests since then, including three by submission.

Against Abdulkadirov, Ruotolo will take on his toughest test yet, but with the biggest prize on the line.
