Tye and Kade Ruotolo’s meteoric rise atop the submission grappling world is truly a sight to behold.

Guiding them every step of the way is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu icon, who made sure the phenomenal twins achieved their full potential.

In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan, Tye Ruotolo opened up about his relationship with his coach and mentor, the great Andre Galvao.

According to the youngest IBJJF world champion, he sees the Atos BJJ leader as more than his sensei, considering he’s been like family to him and Kade.

“My team at Atos always helps me get ready for all my matches and I'm so grateful for my professor Andre Galvao. You know, he's always been like a father to my brother and I.”

After beginning their BJJ careers at the famed Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy, the grappling prodigies switched to Atos full-time in 2017.

Under Galvo’s tutelage, the Ruotolos went on to disrupt the BJJ scene in both gi and nogi, and are now considered as two of the most exciting and decorated grapplers at just 20 years of age.

Kade Ruotolo, for one, is the youngest ADCC world champion and the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world titleholder.

On November 3, Tye Ruotolo hopes to join his brother as a ONE world champion, when he vies for the inaugural welterweight submission grappling crown.

The American BJJ savant will welcome Magomed Abdulkadirov to the world’s largest martial arts organization in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video.

The 10-fight spectacle will air live on US Primetime free of charge for existing Prime Video subscribers in North America
