Aside from a flourishing career in ONE Championship, another thing that is providing excitement and inspiration to Tye Ruotolo these days is the completion of their gym in Costa Rica.

Located at Marbella, Guanacaste, the training facility has been a lifelong passion project for Ruotolo and his twin brother Kade. Aside from a place to train and conduct camps for jiu-jitsu athletes, it is also designed to serve as their family home to visit while they also do their outdoor passions like surfing.

Funding for the construction of the gym has been greatly augmented by the twins’ hefty performance bonuses for their stellar showing in their ONE Championship matches.

In an interview with onefc.com, Tye Ruotolo happily shared that their dream facility is almost complete and that they cannot wait to use it. He said:

“The gym is pretty much done. Our house that we’ve been trying to build for 17, 18 years is getting finished. We’re just being able to get our pool in. We even got an oven for our pizza, like the brick oven. Everything that we could possibly want and hope, our dreams are coming true.”

While he awaits for their family-owned training space to be completed, which should come by the end of the year, jiu-jitsu black belt Tye Ruotolo is gearing up for the biggest match of his ONE career next month as he vies for the inaugural welterweight submission grappling world title.

The setting is ONE Fight Night 16 on Prime Video on November 3, happening at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He will be taking on Russian Magomed Abdulkadirov.

20-year-old Ruotolo is grateful for the opportunity given to him to compete for a world title, something he has always eyed since he made his promotional debut in May last year.

A victory by Tye Ruotolo, who has been undefeated in four fights to date in ONE, will allow him to join Kade, the lightweight submission grappling world title holder, in the promotion’s roster of champions.

Standing in his way is European grappling scene veteran Magomed Abdulkadirov, 32, who is making his debut outing in ONE. He, however, is determined to create a huge ripple and shoot his way to the top of the welterweight division at the onset.

ONE Fight Night 16 will air live in U.S. primetime free of charge for existing Prime Video subscribers in North America.
