UFC flyweight contender Alex Perez emerged as the biggest winner at UFC Vegas 91.

The 32-year-old headlined the event against Matheus Nicolau on April 27. The event was held at the UFC APEX Facility in Enterprise, Nevada. The bout turned out to be a short-lived affair as Perez scored an impressive knockout in the second round of the fight. The finish marked Perez's first UFC win since June 2020.

With the victory, the California native broke his three-fight losing streak in the UFC. He was also named among the winners of the 'Performance of the Night' bonus and took home an additional sum of $50,000.

The brutal knockout by Perez caught the attention of many in the MMA community. Several fighters and fans shared their reactions to the UFC Vegas 91 main event on social media.

UFC middleweight Paulo Costa praised the flyweights' punching power on social media, saying:

Billy Quarantillo lauded the flyweight for his performance in the UFC Vegas 91 main event and said:

Former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling expressed his excitement about the 32-year-old returning to winning ways, saying:

Former title challenger Marlon Vera also showered praise on Perez for his knockout victory. He said:

Perez has been competing in the UFC since December 2017 and has been a part of 11 fights in the multi-billion dollar promotion. Out of those 11 fights, seven have gone in his favor.

During his UFC stint, Perez has faced several prominent fighters like Joseph Benavidez, Jussier Formiga, Deiveson Figueiredo, and Alexandre Pantoja. He competed for the UFC flyweight belt against Figueiredo but came up short.

After the latest victory, the 32-year-old will look to build on the momentum and earn another shot at UFC gold.
