UFC Fight Night 139 Predictions - Full Predictions For UFC Denver Fight Card

UFC Fight Night 139 has been a card which has had more than its fair share of fights changed about.

While the co-headliner of Donald Cerrone vs. Mike Perry remained a constant fixture, the 'Korean Zombie' Chan Sung Jung was supposed to fight former UFC Champion, Frankie Edgar. Instead, he is now facing Yair Rodriguez.

The card is a lively one, with Raquel Pennington taking on the likes of Germain de Randamie. Mike Triziano takes on Luis Pena in the first fight of the night, while Maycee Barber takes on Hannah Cifers.

Beneil Dariush and Chris Gruetzemacher were supposed to take part in a Lightweight Bout, but instead, Gruetzemacher was replaced by Thiago Moises when the former withdrew from the fight for reasons, which are as of yet unknown.

In this article, we will be looking at predictions for the upcoming event, and predict the winner for each fight on the main card, along with our reasons for choosing that particular fighter.

Before heading into a more detailed look at the main card we will take a look at the Undercard and select one fighter we predict will win at UFC Fight Night 139.

We will now take an individual look at each fight on the main card and choose our pick for the winner of each.

#1. Luis Pena vs. Mike Trizano:

Luis Pena and Mike Trizano both have undefeated streaks heading into the fight!

While both fighters are heading into this fight undefeated, only one can emerge without a single loss to his name.

With a 5-0 record, Pena has more of a chance to defeat Mike Trizano, and as a result should be able to come out of this fight as the winner. Both fighters have not had their weaknesses exploited yet, and so this fight should show more of that.

#2. Maycee Barber vs. Hannah Cifers:

Maycee Barber will prove herself in her first UFC Fight

Maycee Barber has proved herself outside the UFC as well as on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. With an undefeated 5-0 record, the UFC seem to be pushing her fast towards a higher slot, as she is on the main card despite this being her debut fight in the promotion.

Her opponent Hannah Cifers is no pushover, and although she has a chance, this fight seems like an open and shut case for Barber.

#3. Beneil Dariush vs Thiago Moises:

Beneil Dariush and newcomer, Thiago Moises

Beneil Dariush was not supposed to be facing Thiago Moises. He was set for a fight against Chris Gruetzemacher. But when Gruetzemacher had to pull out due to unspecified reasons, Dariush was left without an opponent for UFC Fight Night 139.

Who else to step up at such a time other than Thiago Moises? Moises is making his debut for the promotion in this fight against Dariush. Dariush is in far from his best form, and this could be the perfect opportunity for Moises to prove what he has to the fans and to the higher-ups in UFC.

However, Dariush's submission game is not one that people should be forgetting about, as he has proved numerous times in the past.

#4. Raquel Pennington vs. Germaine de Randamie:

Germaine de Randamie will have her hands full with Raquel Pennington

The fight is not one that favours Randamie at any point on the card. While Pennington is a tried and tested fighter at this weight, Randamie is anything but.

From struggling to make the weight to the actual fight, Pennington has the obvious superiority in every aspect of this fight. Unused to this weight class, Pennington will likely wear her down through each round.

#5. Donald Cerrone vs. Mike Perry:

If there is one pair which is almost impossible to predict it is this fight. Donald Cerrone, once one of the consistent fighters on any UFC card is no longer the threat that he once used to be.

He has had difficulties in recent times, losing quite a few fights. Perry will be looking to take advantage of that exact lack of confidence and picking up the win which no one expects heading into a fight with the 'Cowboy'.

Cerrone has been fighting for a long time and with the experience comes an in-depth knowledge of what to expect, while Perry has all the energy and grit that comes from a fighter with little to lose.

A victory for either fighter would be a big deal, as this could help them to secure future fights with more at stake.

#6. 'Korean Zombie' Chan Sung Jung vs. Yair Rodriguez:

The 'Korean Zombie' was expecting a fight with the former UFC Champion Frankie Edgar heading into this fight. Unfortunately, Edgar had to pull out due to an injury which he suffered.

Instead, Jung was left facing another man, who has proven in the past to be no pushover. Yair Rodriguez is one of the top fighters in the UFC on his day, and he will be looking to fill in the shoes of Frankie Edgar at short notice.

The last time that he had entered the Octagon, Rodriguez had faced the man he is replacing in this fight, and it had not gone well for him, with him losing his fight.

In this fight, he will be hoping that things go very differently. The Korean Zombie is hoping to win this fight and possibly get a future title shot in the coming days.

No matter what happens, this fight is not going to be an easy one for either man. Coming in at short notice, Rodriguez would have to do a lot of work to beat Jung.
