UFC Middleweight champion Chris Weidman

– Chris Weidman, the current UFC Middleweight champion has been a respected name in the world of MMA. He is considered one of the best fighters in his division. Being a top dog in his division, Reebok naturally wanted to sign him up to a sponsorship deal. Reebok are the title sponsors for the Mixed martial arts promotion UFC and this would come as a big boost for Weidman, heading into his title defense against Luke Rockhold.

Weidman made this announcement at the MMA Hour Studio in New York City and is extremely happy with his sponsorship deal with Reebok. Weidman stated that he would be joining Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor who already have signed a solo sponsorship deal with Reebok. Weidman made this announcement with Senior Business Unit Director for Reebok Combat Training Michael Lunardelli besides him.

Chris Weidman was surprisingly also gifted a pair of customized Reebok shoes with the American Flag on them which perfectly depicts the ‘All American’. Below is the photo of the shoes gifted to Weidman by Reebok.

When Lunardelli was questioned that why it took such a long time for Weidman to be associated with Reebok, he explained that he had made a list of the fighters he wanted and Weidman was on the top of it. He stated that he had to patiently wait for the other deal to end so that they could snap up Weidman.

He spoke about signing for UFC for the title sponsorship and also stated that all the stars wear the Reebok gear. He also spoke about making custom shoes for Chris and said that this can be done for any of the fighters they have signed under them and also revealed that Weidman was the first on the UFC Roster to have such shoes made for him.

"We literally wrote down our top roster of who we wanted. The first day we came into this thing, he was at the top of the list. We had Ronda, Conor, and Anthony and he was on the list, but he had another deal and we had to wait for that deal to end. We've been patiently waiting. He would have been one of our first signings.”

Weidman was earlier associated with the company Bad Boy which is a big name in the MMA circuit and Reebok were waiting for this deal to end before getting Weidman onboard.
