English singer Adele recently opened up about her desire to have a daughter with partner Rich Paul. While at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the Grammy winner shared with her fans that she was planning to have a baby once she was done with her schedule. The singer, who already has a son, revealed that this time she would want a daughter.

Adele said,

"With me as her mother and Rich as her father, she’s going to be a bossy little queen, isn’t she?"

The singer returned to performing on Friday, May 17, 2024, after taking a break in March for a few weeks for voice rest.

The 36-year-old singer opened up about wanting to have a daughter with her partner once she gets done with her obligations. After a few weeks of voice rest, Adele resumed her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace. This is where she shared her desire with her fans. The singer said,

"Once I am done with all my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby. I want a girl because I've already got a boy."

She added:

"I feel like she might be like the person I love the most in the world, but also probably hate the most in the world — that is what I feel will happen. She's going to put me in my place all the time, isn't she?"

The Grammy-winning singer jokingly also said that her daughter would possibly be a "bossy little queen" because of her parents. Just a month or so ago, in March, Adele announced that she would be on a voice rest. This prompted her to cancel several show dates in the period from March to April as well.

After resuming work, she told her fans that she had to do this to get her voice back. The singer added:

"I had to be on voice rest. When I say voice rest, I mean silence for pretty much five weeks. Can you imagine me of all people not being able to talk for five weeks?"

The Don't You Remember artist revealed that while it was easy for her to avoid singing for the five weeks, it was difficult to not talk at all for the entire period.

"The singing, that's easy. I don’t mind not singing for five weeks, but not being able to talk or not being able to laugh, being on full vocal rest (was tough)."

Adele continued by stating that she would often get sick, and that was mostly because she got "carried away in the shows" while hugging everybody. She further explained,

"You end up just sort of hating people and just sort of sitting on your own in your room a lot. If any of you have germs or you are sick, do not touch me when I walk through. So if you’re sick, even if you get excited, just be like, 'Hey'."

Adele had previously opened up about wanting to have more children

Adele already has a son, Angelo, 11, whom she shares with her former husband, Simon Konecki. Back in August last year, she had already revealed that she was ready to have more children. In a TikTok video last year, when a fan asked her to choose a name for her upcoming child, the artist revealed her desire to have another child soon.

The singer also mentioned that she had a list of names for a baby. According to Adele, whenever she saw a name she liked, she would write it down on the list. In an episode of a BBC podcast named Desert Island Discs, which was released on July 3, 2022, she spoke about having a bigger family. Upon being asked what she would want to see in her life in the next ten years, the singer said,

"I definitely would like a couple more kids. It would be wonderful if we can. If not, I’ve got Angelo. I just want to be happy."

It is thus worth noting that the singer has been toying with the idea of having more children for quite some time now. Adele also has a stepdaughter named Reonna with Paul.

Harpers Bazaar reported that Paul was the only person the English singer dated after her split with her now-former husband Simon Konecki. While the couple managed to keep their relationship quite private for most of the time, last year, Adele reportedly claimed to have married her long-time love.

Adele's Las Vegas residency will continue until June 15 and pick up again in October through the end of November.
