Angela Price opens up on her father's death as Habs goalie's wife comes to terms with painful goodbye

Angela Price, the wife of Habs goalie Carey Price, shared the painful journey she and her family have been navigating following the sudden death of her father.

Angela shared on her Instagram stories:

"I kept putting it off, getting it getting on here. But I told myself today I had to shower, wash my hair, start doing life a little bit again if you missed it. My dad passed away last week. It was really sudden and unexpected."

Angela recounted the events leading up to her father's passing:

"We got in Sunday night. Luckily, we came into town early. I'm so grateful we did. We had a great night with my dad and sat by the pool, and me and my dad talked politics a little and just a great evening.

"And then Monday morning, he had really terrible abdomen pain, and my mom took him into the yard, and it turns out that he had. He had a perforated bowel and went into surgery. Long story short, he went into septic shock and never woke up from surgery.

"This last week has just been with family and friends, and we had planned to be in Washington State with my family anyways for two weeks, so timing wise, that worked out. But we've had a great support system."

Angela highlighted the strength of her local community in Tri-Cities, Washington.

"There's a great support system here in Tri Cities, in Washington. Even, like, friends who I haven't talked to in a long time or don't talk to often, has been bringing food and flowers and doing anything and everything to help."

Amid the grieving process, Angela found a moment of respite as her husband, Carey Price, took their children to Montreal.

Angela Price posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram on August 18.

In the emotional update, she shared the sad news about her father, communicating a profound sense of grief, affection, and appreciation for a man who held great significance in her life.

Angela Price's Instagram caption included:

"Yesterday we lost my dad. Words cannot express the immense love and gratitude I have for this amazing man.

"As I navigate this new chapter without him, I hold onto the lessons he taught me and the legacy he leaves behind.

"Rest in peace, Dad. You will be deeply missed, but your love will forever live on in my heart."

Losing a loved one is not something anyone can truly be prepared for, and a sudden death is devastating.
