“We don't nitpick” — Plastique Tiara discusses RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9 cast

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9 premiered on May 17, 2024, and aired two episodes back to back. During the segment, Plastique Tiaraa was introduced as the new cast member. Tiaraa is a Vietnamese-American drag performer who previously appeared in RuPaul's Drag Race season 11.

On May 17, 2024, the 27-year-old contestant spoke to Distractify about her time on the show and teased what to expect from the current season. She chimed in and said that as part of All Stars season 9, she wanted to "roar" to make an impact on the Asian community and was "very proud" of what she did.

She further discussed about the cast of the Paramount+ show and said:

"This cast is really cool because we don't nitpick with each other, we kind of know who we are. So when we see something, we just kind of internalize and then try to make ourselves better. We're just pushing each other to be the best that we can perform at."

While in conversation with Distratify, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9 star Plastique Tiara teased what to expect from the latest season of the competition. As part of the spin-off's format, drag performers who previously participated in the show return for another chance at victory.

Plastique previously competed in RuPaul's Drag Race season 11 and finished eighth. About her Drag Race journey, she said:

"There were very, very big voices, small voices, and somewhere in between. Growing up, I was never one to talk over another person. That's just how I am, that's just how mu personality is. Sometimes it's not best for TV. It's always been me to never out impact on my words, because words are fleeting. I don't like to. get loud to get my point across."

Plastique Tiara also spoke about her fellow contestants in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9. She noted that she was already friends with some of her competitors. She mentioned that she was "very close" to Roxxxy, Miss Thick and Juicy. She added that she had known Jorgeous since Plastique was 18 or 19 years old.

"We started drag together in Texas. So it's a full circle moment, for all of us, for sure," Tiara added.

In another conversation with the same publication on May 13, 2024, Plastique Tiara talked about the fame she received after her time on the show. In 2020, her video Wipe It Down, garnered millions of views on TikTok. The cast member said that when her video went viral, she "just went balls to the wall." She added that it completely changed her life and she became "the RuGirl with the largest social media following."

Plastique Tiara further shared that she did deals that she never thought she'd be able to, and traveled the world.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9 aired its season premiere on May 17, 2024, and saw the cast return to the werkroom. This included Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Gottmick, Jorgeous, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Roxxxy Andrews, Shannel, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.

Angeria Paris VanMichaels won the first challenge, which consisted of writing and singing an original verse for Drag Queens Save the World. Gottmick won a challenge in the second episode in which the queens had to serve three runway looks. The winners of both episodes along with the second-best queens of the day, Jorgeous and Plastique Tiara, respectively won Benefactress Badges in All Stars 9.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9 airs its episodes on Paramount+ weekly on Fridays.
