Liv Morgan has looked back on winning her first championship in WWE. In 2022, she dethroned Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women's Title.

After competing in NXT for several years, the 29-year-old star debuted on the main roster in 2017. She had to wait several years to get a taste of gold in WWE, and she finally did it at the 2022 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event by cashing in her contract the same night she won it. Her reign only lasted 98 days, as she lost it back to The Baddest Woman on the Planet at Extreme Rules.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Liv Morgan reflected on winning the SmackDown Women's Championship in 2022, stating that it was more than anything she had hoped for and that it gave her the validation she needed.

“It was so much more [than everything I hoped for]. And also, like I said, I was very bad for a very long time, so it was a validation that I needed. I just was like everything was worth it, I am quite literally at the top of the mountain, so I just wanted to really sit with myself and just appreciate what just happened to really absorb. So I sat in my room with my briefcase all night. And that’s what I did. That was my celebration, but it was the best celebration I could have had in that moment," said Morgan.

Liv Morgan didn't plan to cash in her Money in the Bank contract on the same night

After Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship, Liv Morgan didn't waste any time running down to the ring to cash in her Money in the Bank contract.

However, during the interview, she revealed that she didn't originally plan to do it but changed her mind after seeing that Rousey was vulnerable.

''I didn’t think I was gonna cash in. I was in Vegas. I was like, 'Well, I just won Money in the Bank; this is like the biggest victory in my whole entire life. I’m gonna go celebrate; I’m gonna go gamble; I’m gonna go have some drinks; I’m gonna celebrate my victory! And then I noticed that Ronda gets injured during the match and I’m like, 'Oh, man, should I go? Should I not go?' I’m kind of having this moment of, 'What do I do?' And then I finally was like, 'I’m gonna go!'''

Liv Morgan went on to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship twice with Raquel Rodriguez in 2023. Later this month, she will challenge Becky Lynch for the Women's World title at King and Queen of the Ring.
