It’s that time of the week again when you can pitch your predictions for the upcoming game week, calculate your score and compare yours against ours. The rules, as always, remain the same, +3 for a correct score, + 1 for a correct result, 0 for a wrong result.
Here are our predictions, what are yours? (all timings in IST )
Newcastle | v | Chelsea |
Prediction : 2 – 1 (03 Dec, 1815 hrs)
Chelsea have lost twice to Liverpool in a span of 9 days, and this is certainly not a good time to be a Blues supporter. AVB will also have one eye on a very crucial tie against Valencia on Tuesday. Newcastle are on the back of a very impressive performance at Old Trafford. I am going to be very bold in predicting a loss for Chelsea.
Blackburn | v | Swansea |
Prediction : 1 – 2 (03 Dec, 2030 hrs)
Steve Kean very despicably claimed to have “forfeited” the match against Cardiff City on Tuesday. It was utter disrespect shown to a very brave performance by Cardiff, and also to his own fans and players. Why this man still gets to keep his job, while Bruce gets sacked, continues to baffle me. This match will most likely end in a draw but I hope my prediction comes true, just so that it might lead to Kean’s dismissal.
Man City | v | Norwich |
Prediction : 3 – 1 (03 Dec, 2030 hrs)
If AVB has one eye on the Champions League mid week fixture, Mancini probably will have both eyes on Wednesday! Nevertheless, with due respect to Norwich’s performance this season, it is safe to say, that they stand no chance at the Etihad.
QPR | v | West Brom |
Prediction : 2 – 1 (03 Dec, 2030 hrs)
QPR’s record this season has been – L W L D W D L D W L L W L. The inconsistency is so obvious it is always difficult to predict their matches, because you can never predict against which team will they perform. WBA, on the other hand, are slowly picking up pace this season. This one’s very difficult to predict, and hence I will predict as I always do in these matches, a narrow home win for QPR.
Tottenham | v | Bolton |
Prediction : 3 – 0 (03 Dec, 2030 hrs)
Bolton find themselves 18th in the table, and this is the weakest Bolton team since Coyle took over. This is also the strongest Tottenham team in 50 years. Anything less than a 2 goal win for the home team would force me keep my promise to take my girlfriend out for shopping.
Wigan | v | Arsenal |
Prediction : 1 – 3 (03 Dec, 2030 hrs)
Arsenal messed up at home against Fulham last Saturday. Their reserves put in a commendable performance against City on Tuesday, but now with RVP, Walcott, Ramsey, Szczesny properly rested, they won’t find it hard to beat a 19th placed Wigan.
Aston Villa | v | Man Utd |
Prediction : 1 – 1 (03 Dec, 2300 hrs)
United were unlucky against Newcastle, but were not clinical in front of goal, and they were just horrible against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. They also have an important Champions League fixture coming up. With the complete lack of creativity in midfield, I am bravely predicting United to drop 2 points against a lackluster Villa side, though I do hope I am proven wrong.
Everton | v | Stoke City |
Prediction : 2- 1 (04 Dec, 203o hrs)
Both Everton and Stoke picked up important victories last week. However Moyes’ boys look the more formidable of the two to win this one. Stoke do not have a very good away record, and the Toffees aren’t that bad at Goodison Park.
Wolves | v | Sunderland |
Prediction : 2 – 1 ( 04 Dec, 2130 hrs)
At the time of writing this article, Steve Bruce has been sacked and no one has replaced him yet. Wolves aren’t on a brilliant run of form either, but this is the perfect time for any one to be facing Sunderland. Predicting a close, and a very vital win for Wolves.
Fulham | v | Liverpool |
Prediction : 0 – 2 (06 Dec, 0130 hrs)
Fulham put up a very brave performance against Arsenal at Emirates last week. But Liverpool are going through a very good phase at present, they just need to get in more goals. This however should be a routine victory for the Reds.
