Here are some important facts about this match:
- The tagline for this match was ‘No Chance in hell’. This was because Vince McMahon, who was then a member of ‘The Coporation’ stable, had asserted that Stone Cold had no chance in hell to win the match.
- Vince McMahon kept up his words as he won the match eliminating Stone Cold Steve Austin. Stone Cold had entered the match first and Vince followed him in second. In the end, Vince won the match for the first time.
- Vince had announced a $100,000 bounty for the person who eliminates him, which ultimately did not happen and hence it remained unclaimed.
- Both Vince and Austin lasted for about 59 minutes in this match
- Stone Cold Steve Austin eliminated the most participants in the match(8).
- Chyna (entrant #30) became the first ever female participant in a Royal Rumble match.
- Vince McMahon relinquished his opportunity for main-eventing Wrestlemania and hence the Royal Rumble match runner-up Stone Cold received that opportunity. This ironic event was a first in history.
