Manchester United are just five games away from clinching their record 20th Premier League title in May, which could be the only silverware for United this season.
With United’s midfield lacking the ability to control the game and create chances for the attacking front, United’s weakness has been exposed. United are in the driving seat for their 20th league Title partially because of the return of Paul Scholes.
United need to find a player who can control the game, and dominate the midfield like the way Ronaldo did few years back.
Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes can extend their service with United for a year. Sir Alex is busy in rebuilding the squad in order to regain the dominance in both Domestic and European completion.
Sir Alex is keen on buying Lille’s Eden Hazard. Fergie seemed to be very much interested in buying the Belgian International, which was revealed by Manchester United’s coach Rene Meulensteen. Also it was confirmed that Ferguson’s recent scouting in March was to watch the 21-year-old winger in action.
“The manager wanted to see Hazard by himself. That’s a sign he thinks it’s an interesting player. We talked a lot about him,” he told Dutch football magazine Voetbal International.
“For a club it’s important that you keep refreshing your squad. Hazard is a special talent, but it always takes a while. As example: We’ve followed David de Gea for a long time before we got him.
“Ferguson wants to know the character of the player. Because of that he’s going to look by himself for players. Hazard is ‘the man’ at Lille. Ferguson wanted to see if that had an influence on him.”
Last time Sir Alex Ferguson was seen personally scouting was for the Spanish young talent David De Gea and the Spanish talent is currently in the United squad.
United will face tough competition in getting Hazad’s signature because Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are closely monitoring the player.
