Wayne Parnell surrenders before Mumbai court regarding drug abuse, gets bail

In a latest development, South African fast bowler Wayne Parnell surrendered before Mumbai court after a chargesheet was filed against him in a ‘rave party’ drug abuse case.

The Special NDPS court on Monday gave a copy of the chargesheet filed in the case to the accused, including IPL cricketer Rahul Sharma and actor couple Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Agnihotri.

Mumbai Police had on March 6, filed the chargesheet in the case after which the court had summoned all the accused.

Wayne Parnell, along with his Pune Warriors teammate Rahul Sharma, were taken into custody by the police last year for alleged consumption of drugs in a Juhu ‘rave party’. Both of them tested positive in the drug test later.

However, the court granted him bail against a bond of Rs. 10,000.
