Latest rumors suggest that Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia may leave the Old Trafford club in the coming January transfer window. In 2012, Valencia was voted as the club player of the season by United fans. But, things have gone downhill from there for the speedy winger. Currently, he is struggling to impress United’s new manager David Moyes to earn a regular place in the starting eleven.
Manchester United may agree to sell Valencia as they already have many wingers in the squad including Nani, Ashley Young, Wilfried Zaha, Ryan Giggs and the new rising star Adnan Januzaj. Even Shinji Kagawa can play as a winger if needed. So, Valencia’s departure would not hurt United in any way.
According to Independent, Turkish side Galatasaray are the favorites to sign the speedster. Reportedly, their new manager Roberto Mancini is very keen on adding Antonio Valencia to their already star studded Galatasaray lineup which includes Didier Drogba, Wesley Sneijder and Burak Yilmaz.
Turkish newspaper Fanatik reported that Galatasaray are planning to make a £12.5m bid for Valencia in the January window. But, Mancini’s side are not the only team who are interested in the Ecuadorian. David Moyes’ former side Everton are also in the race to sign the winger.
