Barcelona are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Borussia Moenchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Spanish radio station Cadena SER claims that agreement has been reached between the 21-year old and the Catalan club. They are rumored to be deciding on the fee which is reported to be around eight million euros.
Sport also believes the deal will soon be reached, and cites an interview withSky in Germany. Asked whether there had been contact with Barca, ter Stegen smiled and replied: “Nobody knows.”
He added: “The first thing is to talk with Borussia because my agent and I want to take things step by step. I don’t know whether I will join Barcelona — the speculation is yours.”
Sandro Rosell, Barcelona’s president had recently said that their preferred option would be convince Victor Valdes to extend his contract which will expire in the summer. However, the Spain international appears intent on moving abroad in the summer.
Rosell suggested Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, but the Blues would be unlikely to sell. Additionally, Liverpool’s Pepe Reina, who is spending the season at Napoli, has spoken of his desire to move to Camp Nou.
