According to the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal is closing in on landing Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema in January.
Arsene Wenger, whose side has had a great start to the season, has switched his attention to Benzema after failing to make the cut for Luis Suarez in the summer. However, Suarez will be instrumental in the deal as Real Madrid will only let go of the Frenchman if they are successful in their pursuit of the Liverpool forward.
Benzema has been in blistering form lately, scoring four goals from four games, and will be tempted to rejoin his former team-mate Mesut Ozil at Emirates if the Suarez deal materializes. And if the deal is to happen, it will reportedly be worth around £22m.
