Toronto FC are set to announce the signing of Tottenham striker Jermaine Defoe for around 7 million pounds.
Defoe had appeared in 21 matches for Spurs during which he scored 9 goals and provided 3 assists.
Defoe will earn close to 90,000 pounds a week and will link up with former Spurs player Ryan Nelsen who is now the head coach of Toronto FC.
Toronto are yet to confirm the deal, however they did provide a hint that Defoe will arrive as they posted a Jermaine Defoe image on their homepage and captioned it as “Big deal”.
