#6. CM Punk's real-life beef with fellow AEW star Colt Cabana
CM Punk and current AEW star Colt Cabana used to be the best of friends. The former WWE champion even gave a shoutout during his pipebomb promo. Upon being released from the company, Punk even infamously went on Cabana's podcast Art Of Wrestling to criticize how his firing was handled.
The fallout from that interview led WWE to sue both Punk and Cabana over the comments, which eventually led to the dissolution of their friendship.
Cabana sued Punk over legal fees that stemmed from the original lawsuit. He filed for breach of contract and fraud regarding their legal battle against WWE doctor Chris Amann. In the documents, Colt claimed Punk promised he'd be "100% covered" in their defamation battle.
Unfortunately, a close friendship would end due to a financial dispute. Now that both wrestlers are in AEW, it will be interesting to see if they will ever share screentime.
#4. CM Punk appeared as a gangster during John Cena's entrance at WrestleMania 22
Many of you might not know that Punk was one of the many vintage gangsters in John Cena‘s WrestleMania 22 entrance. The event took place in Chicago and had a mob theme.
During this time, Punk was still in OVW, WWE's developmental system. The company has a history of using its developmental talent as extras on the main show.
Before his official debut, Punk first appeared on WWE television as one of the gangsters holding a tommy gun and wearing a fedora hat-suit combo alongside John Cena before his match against Triple H for the WWE Championship.
