Bryan Danielson has been absent from AEW ever since he lost the World Title to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024. The American Dragon has retired from full-time competition in the above-mentioned match.

However, the fans have to wonder that if Danielson's professional wrestling career is not over yet he has to return for a few final matches before officially retiring. This list will take a look at which AEW stars could potentially be the ones to officially retire Bryan Danielson from professional wrestling.

#3. AEW EVP Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega had been absent from TV for most of 2024 after being diagnosed with Diverticulitis and undergoing surgery. The Cleaner had missed the opportunity to take Bryan Danielson on one more time before the latter hung up his boots from a full-time schedule.

Omega's return to the ring is now imminent with reports emerging on his potential return to AEW happening soon. The fans have been waiting to see Omega vs. Danielson wrestle again in AEW.

The two stars last wrestled each other in 2021 on an episode of AEW Dynamite in a phenomenal match. The two generational performers would put on a classic for the fans that would ultimately end in a 30-minute time-limit draw.

Perhaps both stars will finally be looking to settle who's the best in an ultimate final dream match for Bryan Danielson on a bigger stage. Omega would also be a perfect fit to retire Danielson due to their past share history together on the independent wrestling circuit.

#2. Former World Champion Hangman Page

Hangman Page has been on fire as a star reborn ever since his anger has come forth showing a more darker persona. The top AEW star is currently on the quest for Jon Moxley's World Title and perhaps he could turn even further to the dark side if he loses.

A perfect way for Tony Khan to solidify Hangman's heel status would be for him to attack Bryan Danielson on his return. If Adam Page were to bring the same amount of wrath and ferocity he brought against Swerve Strickland, then The American Dragon would be in danger.

It would also be a spectacular move for Hangman Adam Page to officially be the one to retire Bryan Danielson. This move would draw huge heat from the fans who still choose to cheer for him.

#1. Former NJPW star Will Ospreay

The fans know the magic Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson can produce in the ring after seeing them go against one another at AEW Dynasty this year. Many believe that the match will go down as a classic in professional wrestling history.

Both stars would put forth an undoubtedly outstanding match in their last encounter, so then how could they possibly top it? Perhaps, if Bryan Danielson were to come out and say that he never fully got over his loss against Will Ospreay a strong story could be told with this angle.

A story of obsession can unfold with the former AEW Champion being adamant about challenging The Aerial Assasin once again. Perhaps, the fans can see shades of Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker in their final feud at WrestleMania 26, as Danielson could grow desperate and put his entire career on the line in an effort to challenge Will Ospreay one last time.
