AEW and WWE have a weird relationship. There is a constant battle between the fans which at times is almost tribalistic. However, a lot of stars have moved between the two companies.
Over the years, big names from the two companies have traded places and some have gone on to achieve success while the others are yet to make a mark. Stars like Claudio Castagnoli come to mind when we think of stars not meeting their expectations.
In this article, we will take a look at three such AEW stars who have unfinished business in WWE.
#3. Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley has carved a niche for himself in AEW and has firmly placed himself in the category of the world’s best wrestlers. He has headlined almost all the shows in the company and has held many of the big titles over the years.
There is one glaring hole in his CV and that is he has never headlined a WrestleMania. Despite being a success during his time there, he was not given a chance to main event the Show of Shows. He will want to add that to his list soon.
#2. Miro
Miro has gone through a turbulent time over the last few months. He was injured in December last year and has since been out. Added to that, he has split with his wife, CJ Perry. Things are not looking great at the moment for the former United States Champion.
During his time in WWE, Bobby Lashley dated his ex-wife and that storyline ended with the Bulgarian looking like a loser. He will want to right that wrong and for that, he will have to go back to his former stomping ground.
#1. Claudio Castagnoli to win the World Title in WWE
Claudio Castagnoli was initially booked as an unstoppable wrestler and was legitimately a top star. He was winning matches and also won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania.
Despite that, he never really got the chance to lift the World Title that his talent so richly deserved during his time in WWE. His move to AEW has not really materialized into success either and he could want to make a move back to his former workplace to fulfill his potential.
