AEW and WWE are the two biggest wrestling promotions today, and it's easy to see why. WWE has a rich history of pro-wrestling legends, and AEW has taken the world by storm since its inception. The rivalry has often seen talent from both brands taking digs at each other.
However, there are plenty of wrestlers who are friends with performers from the opposite promotion. Some are even dating or married to each other.
Here are three of these unlikely couples who are connected romantically across the great pro wrestling divide.
#3. AEW's Bryan Danielson & WWE's Brie Bella
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Brie Bella is one half of WWE's iconic Bella Twins, who made a return at the 2022 Royal Rumble on January 29. Their history in Vince McMahon's company dates back as far as 2007. During Brie's run, she crossed paths with Bryan Danielson, which led to them dating in real life.
Danielson is one of the most prominent wrestlers not just in AEW, but in the entire wrestling business. His All Elite run is flourishing with great bookings coupled with his impressive in-ring skills. His recent alliance with Jon Moxley is expected to be yet another entertaining storyline.
Danielson and Brie Bella got married on April 11, 2014. Their family now has two beautiful children. While Danielson is still very involved in the wrestling business, Brie has explored other opportunities.
Brie's recent appearance at the Royal Rumble has fans questioning whether she is back in the pro wrestling scene. But regardless of whether she wrestles again, her relationship with her husband will likely be unmoved.
#2. AEW's Andrade El Idolo and WWE's Charlotte Flair
Andrade El Idolo has been gaining steam in AEW recently, taking over Matt Hardy's stable and starting a feud with the Hardy Boyz. This development looks promising for the leader of the Andrade Family Office.
Charlotte Flair has had a distinguished run in WWE and shows no signs of stopping. She has held the SmackDown Women's Championship title for a good while too. She currently plans to retain the title against Ronda Rousey.
The relationship between Charlotte and Andrade has been rumored to be shaky at times, although these rumors were squashed a while back. The two top tier wrestlers are still together, which puts them in as yet another couple on this list.
#1. AEW's Malakai Black and WWE's Zelina Vega
Malakai Black jumped ship to All Elite Wrestling last year and has been very well received by fans. His stable, The House of Black, has recently seen a lot of progress with the addition of Buddy Matthews and Brody King. Black has been given significant creative freedom, and that has worked out really well for him.
Zelina Vega has also seen success in WWE, and she is currently one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions alongside Carmella. Outside of pro wrestling, she has also appeared in the 2012 film Dorothy and the Witches of Oz.
Zelina Vega married Malakai Black back in 2018. Although the couple have confessed that they've had their fair share of difficulties due to working in opposing promotions, their relationship still seems as strong as ever.
