Worlds End 2024 will be the final AEW pay-per-view of this year. The high-profile event will take place on December 28, 2024, at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
While Tony Khan has struggled to maintain the consistency of AEW's weekly shows, the head booker of All Elite Wrestling has rarely missed when it comes to the marquee pay-per-views. All Elite Wrestling has been on a hot streak when it comes to its monthly pay-per-views, and Khan would be eager to cap off the year by delivering a memorable second edition of Worlds End.
The show has a stacked match card, with several top stars like Jon Moxley, Hangman Adam Page, Mariah May, and MJF set to compete on the Florida pay-per-view. The fallout of Worlds End pay-per-view would be very crucial, as it would determine the momentum AEW would carry into 2025.
In this article, let's look at three mistakes Tony Khan must not make at Worlds End 2024.
Top WWE star blasted, compared to Winnie the Pooh RIGHT HERE
#3. Kazuchika Okada must not retain the Continental Championship
Kazuchika Okada is arguably the greatest tournament wrestler to have existed in the history of pro wrestling. However, The Rainmaker must not emerge victorious in the ongoing edition of the Continental Classic.
The NJPW legend dethroned Eddie Kingston in March 2024 to become the new Continental Champion. Okada has held on to the prestigious title for over nine months and has defeated numerous top stars during his reign.
At the moment, The Rainmaker has seven points in four matches. Okada is currently placed second in the Blue League and is likely to be one of the Semi-Finalists. However, the 37-year-old star must not remain the champion at the end of Worlds End 2024.
While he has certainly elevated the prestige of the Continental Title, it has held him back from featuring in a more prominent role on AEW television. The Rainmaker has remained stuck in the mid-card scene for too long, and it is about time he moves on to bigger challenges.
Tony Khan must have either Will Ospreay or Kyle Fletcher emerge victorious in the second edition of the Continental Classic. If Okada does not pass the torch to a younger star at Worlds End, it would be a step in the backward direction.
#2. Christian Cage must not have another unsuccessful cash-in attempt
Christian Cage currently has his sights set on the AEW World Championship. The Patriarch emerged victorious in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In 2024 to earn himself a guaranteed World Title shot.
The former TNT Champion has been trying to cash in his contract for months. The Patriarch failed to stage a successful cash-in against Bryan Danielson, and the situation has remained the same since Jon Moxley became the new champion.
Captain Charisma came incredibly close to fulfilling his prophecy at Full Gear 2024, but Jay White prevented him from pinning The Purveyor of Violence. While Cage is expected to go after the World Champion at Worlds End, he should ideally avoid taking that route.
The Patriarch will unlikely leave the Florida pay-per-view as the AEW World Champion. Moxley's reign at the top has only begun and is likely to continue for a few more months. Hence, Cage should avoid making a mockery of himself by having another unsuccessful cash-in attempt.
Tony Khan should have either HOOK or The Death Riders take out Christian Cage so that Captain Charisma stays away from the show's main event. Cage could then take a break from targeting The Death Riders for a while to protect the credibility of his onscreen character.
#1. Adam Cole must not win at AEW Worlds End 2024
After nearly feuding with each other for two years, Adam Cole and Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) would finally conclude their rivalry at Worlds End 2024. The Panama Playboy defeated Kyle O'Reilly on the latest episode of Dynamite to earn his singles match against The Wolf of Wrestling.
The love-hate relationship between Cole and MJF was one of the highlights of AEW in 2023. Unfortunately, several glaring plot holes have damaged the quality of the storyline.
At Worlds End 2024, The Salt of the Earth must take down his arch-nemesis to finish off his feud with Cole once and for all. The two stars have been stuck in this program for months, and it is high time they moved on to new opponents.
Adam Cole should not walk out of Worlds End with his hand raised in the air. It was The Panama Playboy who turned his back on his Better Than You Bay Bay ally, which caused MJF to embrace his dark side again. The Devil must get a chance to annihilate his former partner, who planned the demise of his AEW World Championship reign.
Cole's victory at Worlds End would not be a satisfying conclusion to his rivalry with MJF. The former NXT Champion must face consequences for the damage caused to Roderick Strong and his strained relationship with Kyle O'Reilly.
