Since losing the AEW World Title Match at last year's All Out and then winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships with Kenny Omega, Hangman Page and his dissension with The Elite has been the most compelling story in AEW and possibly all of pro wrestling. His friendship with FTR due to their mutual love of alcohol has only added to this story. On the August 22nd AEW Dynamite, Dax and Cash got in Hangman's head by convincing Page that FTR needed to win the following week's Tag Team Gauntlet Match instead of his friends, The Young Bucks.
During the Tag Team Gauntlet, Hangman Page made sure The Young Bucks did not win by costing them their match against The Best Friends. This worked on many levels. It prevented a premature meeting between FTR and The Young Bucks as well as proved to be enough for Matt and Nick to finally kick Hangman Page out of the Elite.

FTR defeating Hangman Page and Kenny Omega may prove to be another turning point in this slow-burn storyline. Losing the AEW World Tag Team Championships could make Hangman Page decide to finally shed himself of the final member of The Elite that he is still connected. It could also be the final straw in the ongoing descent into madness and the return of The Cleaner for Kenny Omega.
The potential intriguing stories from FTR winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship should make AEW Dynamite even more interesting and compelling to watch. FTR's victory is something that creates many different matchups and feuds in the singles and tag team division.
