Jon Moxley had jumped ship from WWE to AEW and has certainly enjoyed his time in the latter wrestling company. Moxley is currently in possession of the World Title in Tony Khan's promotion and enjoying his fourth run as the top champion.
However, even after all of his success in All Elite Wrestling many fans still clamor for him to return to WWE, especially now that it's being led by Triple H. However, this list will take a look at the few reasons why Mox shouldn't leave AEW and return to the Stamford-based company.
So without further ado, let's begin:
#3. The creative freedom he receives in AEW
Creative freedom is an integral part of convincing a professional wrestler to come to work for their company. AEW has emphasized its creative process of involving stars in the booking decisions and letting them tell their own stories at times.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Jon Moxley has certainly exercised that creative freedom ever since he touched ground in All Elite Wrestling. He's had his time alone at the top and told interactive emotional stories with Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, etc. and now has a faction in his image called The Death Riders.
Comparing this to his time in WWE as Dean Ambrose, the fans could see a clear difference in creative freedom. Moxley had looked to be completely out of it in his final run with WWE after being burned by the company's booking decisions with his character, particularly his heel turn.
#2. Having certified main event status
Jon Moxley was propelled to the top of the company on the very first day he landed in All Elite Wrestling back in 2019. Since then Mox has gone on to enjoy four different reigns as the AEW World Champion, with all of them being successful.
Now, even though The Death Rider did have quite a lot of success in WWE as well, it did feel like he had played second fiddle mostly to his Shield counterparts, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Even during his time at the top, it had always felt that Reigns and Rollins were bigger stars in the company.
#1. He has more backstage influence in AEW compared to WWE
Moxley has been a day-one star for AEW ever since its inception in 2019 and has chosen to ride for the company through thick and thin. Even after a few controversies surrounding the promotion, Moxley has stuck to his gear and stepped up to become the top champion on numerous occasions.
That kind of call to action has deservedly earned him some backstage influence as well in Tony Khan's promotion. Now it would be up to him to exercise it as he sees fit and that type of backstage backing is enough to sway any star to stick around for long.
Perhaps in the future, Moxley can become a major backstage personality like Triple H in WWE.
